The Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children serves, supports, and advocates for all who care for and educate young children.

Our vision is that all children will grow up valued, respected and provided with the nurturing and resources necessary to ensure their optimal development.

The Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children (VAAEYC) is a professional membership association that works to increase access to high-quality early childhood education and to advance a diverse, well-prepared and well-compensated early childhood profession. With over 900 members and 6 local chapters, VAAEYC is the largest membership organization in the Virginia for early childhood professionals and is committed to providing programs and services that equitably meet the needs of young children, their families, and early childhood professionals.

Capitol Steps – VAAEYC State Advocacy Day ($5,000)

On MLK Day each year, VAAEYC members and advocates gather at the State Capitol to raise awareness of the importance of early childhood education. Early childhood professionals from all over the state join together to meet with their elected officials, attend legislative briefings, and learn more about the legislative process. This partnership assures that the group has in-person training for effective advocacy. Funding partner will receive recognition on all event related emails, social media posts, and on-site signage during training, as well as on opportunity to address attendees.

Advocacy Stipends ($1,000)

VAAEYC is working to eliminate financial barriers to participating in the legislative process by providing members with stipends to cover travel and unpaid time-off so they can meet with elected officials and participate in legislative hearings for either the Capitol Steps Day or the NAEYC Public Policy Forum. Funding partner will receive recognition in all emails and social media posts related to advocacy stipends.

NAEYC Accreditation Fee Support Grants ($1,500)

All young children deserve access to high-quality early learning programs! To support early learning programs in achieving NAEYC Accreditation, VAAEYC will provide grants to cover the cost of fees associated with accreditation. Priority will be given to early learning programs serving children living in poverty, multilingual children, children of color, and children with differing abilities. Funding partner will receive recognition on emails and social media posts promoting grant applications and on all grant application and award materials.

Clarene Vickery Scholarship Fund ($500)

Access to professional development is key to helping early childhood professionals excel in the field! The Clarene Vickery Scholarship Fund covers travel expenses and conference registration for VAAEYC members who have never attended our Annual Conference, and would not otherwise be able to. Funder will receive recognition on all emails and social media posts related to the Clarene Vickery Scholarship Fund and Recipients.

Annual Conference Networking Event ($5,000)

This partnership would be the sole host of an open networking event at no cost to Annual Conference attendees. Your partnership will allow you to help craft this evening for attendees which will include music, food, and entertainment and signage thanking your company as the host. The goal is to provide this vital break for all conference attendees at no cost as a “thank you” for the hard work they do, and the personal sacrifices they make to be an educator. The evening would include time for remarks from your representative.

VAAEYC eNewsletter

The VAAEYC E-Newsletter is published six times per year, bi-monthly. This digital newsletter is sent to all VAAEYC members, which ranges between 850 and 1,000 members. These newsletters are produced in a pdf format and allow URL links.

To keep the newsletter focused on content, each edition is limited to no more than two advertisers. Ads must be single-image graphic in static PNG or JPG format (e.g., no animation, video, or audio).
