To best serve young children, VAAEYC is an active participant in advocacy and public policy discussions. The public policy circle researches and advocates on issues that affect the care and education of young children in Virginia. VAAEYC encourages all Early Childhood Educators to advocate for their profession and the children you serve.

Public Policy issues and advocacy are fluid and the most up-to-date information is posted on VAAEYC’s Facebook page HERE. Information and critical advocacy needs are time sensitive so be sure to follow us to know when action is needed!

Stay tuned for the 2025 Capitol Steps Lobby Day! VAAEYC will hold it’s Lobby Day on a day other than MLK Day, as that is also Inauguration Day.

NAEYC Public Policy Forum

Advocacy begins with YOU and YOU are needed!

VAAEYC Participates in NAEYC’s annual Public Policy Forum each year. We gather early childhood educators from across the state to gather, strategize, learn from each other, and meet with representatives to have our collective voices heard as we advocate for educators and children.
