This workshop will focus on understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences ( ACE) and how trauma may affect learning and behavior. It will provide strategies to strengthen coping skills, self-regulation, and positive self-identity for not only children in care, but others in the community.
Helen has lead discussions on professional topics including community and early education topics including transportation access, hiring practices, health promotion initiatives, behavior modification, and mental health. She is an instructor in Trauma and Resiliency Basics, Adult Mental Health and First Aid, as well as CPR and First Aid. Helen holds her Master's Degree in Education from Virginia Tech.
